Popular Minneapolis Lowry Haunted House Not Opening This Year
The person responsible for a popular Halloween display in Northeast Minneapolis has decided to cancel it this year after 22 years of scaring guests without charging them. [1]
The house, located at 1607 Lowry Avenue NE in Minneapolis, undergoes a transformation during the month of October with spooky decorations. This year, the Haunted House on Lowry has announced that they will not be hosting their walk-through event, and it is uncertain if it will be held in the future.
It appears that a few neighbors found it bothersome, but the owners were unaware of any previous issues raised by neighbors. However, this is only one perspective. Will we ever hear from the neighbors involved? It is unlikely, as stated by the first family of Halloween, this is Minnesota.
Mark Lazarchic stated in a Facebook post that the cancellation of the annual backyard scare experience was due to cost, staffing, and complaints from neighbors.
Since the announcement, he has received numerous responses from people expressing their disappointment and offering their assistance, which has left him feeling overwhelmed.
Will the Attraction Return Next Year?
There is a possibility of its return, but as we age, the time commitment and costs are becoming more burdensome and outweigh our ability and desire,” explains Lazarchic.
The family stated that the cost of setting up, taking down, and storing the attraction amounts to over $2,000 per year, without considering additional expenses for purchasing new items and materials.

The usual crew that works and sets up the event is busy this year as well, presenting a staffing shortage issue. [2]
Lazarchic has not ruled out the possibility of returning in 2024. Fans are encouraged to visit the Facebook page for updates on next year. [3]
