When you have chosen Matt’s Moving for your residential move, you will want to do the following in preparation for your move day.
This means you will be packing all your boxes and having things ready that morning for us to load them into our moving trucks. If you have special items, it would be a good idea to let the movers know ahead of time… this way they can take the proper precautions when handling items such as: lamps, glass tables, etc.
Then as move day approaches, stage your belongings and property as close to the doors as you can to make it quicker for movers to carry to our moving trucks. Every situation is different, if you like in an apartment, townhome, single family home or a multi-family home.
For those homes that have attached garages. This serves as a great place to stage your belongings like the things you packed and small things as it makes it easier to access.

We show up on time with a moving truck, not a U-Haul, and only in emergency mechanic situations will we ever show up in a rented moving truck to complete a job. Our trucks are professional moving trucks equipped with:

We move your belongings as quickly as possible, using straps and at times speed packs to speed up the process. All of your items are loaded then into our moving truck for safe transportation. This includes:

After the move we finalize the bill, then follow up on any post-move concerns you may have had. If you have storage or need storage services we then move your belongings to our warehouse where they are safe until you need them again. We offer both short term and long term storage to our customers.
What we can vs can’t move
What we can’t move
While you would think we can move anything from your home. There are some limits by state law which we must follow. These include:
Combustible Fuel
Any items containing fuel – Gasoline, propane, or other combustible materials. Typically found in yard equipment, chain saws, lawn mowers. We can move these belongings but first they must be emptied of their fuel.
Guns and Ammunition
We are known for relocating safes and gun safes. But in the instance of Gun Safes they need to be emptied of both guns and ammunition.
Fire Wood
This is a bit of an odd one but it’s true, we can not transport firewood due to a Minnesota DNR restriction.
Additional items include:
Hot Tubs, Motor Vehicles, Cash and other small Valuables, Transportation for Humans or Animals, Perishable Foods, Important Legal Documents, Compressed Air Tanks
